• Guinea second African side to reach FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017
  • Will be Guineans fifth U-17 World Cup appearance
  • Tanzania, Mali, Niger or Angola will join Guina and Ghana in India

Guinea secured a goalless draw with Ghana in their final group game at the CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, meaning they joined their opponents at the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017.

Ghana were already assured of their place in India having won their opening two games at the championship, but their Group A rivals at Gabon 2017 needed a point to see off the challenge of Cameroon to finish second and claim their semi-final berth. Due to the 0-0 result between Ghana and Guinea, Cameroon’s 1-0 victory against the continental championship hosts was ultimately in vain.

Two more tickets to India 2017 will be finalised tomorrow, with Group B set to conclude. Currently Tanzania and Mali, with four points apiece, are in the driving seat, but they face Niger and Angola respectively, who on one point each, can still catch their opponents and reach the global finals.
